The Civil Construction sector includes plant operators, road construction workers, pipelayers, tunnel constructors, site managers and designers. Qualifications in the Vocational sector range from Certificate I right up to Advanced Diplomas.

The major employer association is the Civil Construction Federation. The unions that have members in this industry are the CFMEU and the AWU.
