- a “current workforce” training strategy is required to ensure sufficient skilled labour
- regular refresher training is required in appropriate areas
- renewal of the workforce with a focus on, training & retaining a greater number of new entrants
- research is required to improve training completion rates
- provide sufficient TAFE Certificate 3 funded training places
- attract quality new entrants, including through industry supported VCAL/VET in Schools programs
