Industry Advisory Board (IAB) Role

Building Industry Consultative Council Industry Advisory Body (BICCIAB) is the Industry Advisory Body (IAB) for the Building Industry.

The mission of the Building Industry Consultative Committee Industry Advisory Body is to provide advice on building industry Vocational Educational and Training issues and to promote the industry utilising information that is accurate, reliable and reflects the needs of Victorian stakeholders.

To ensure there is strong industry leadership of the training system, the Victorian Government funds a network of 16 ITABs which are experts on training needs and delivery in their particular industries.

ITABs provide authoritative, independent information on training needs, and promote skills development and take-up of training by businesses in their industries.

The Building Industry Consultative Council Industry Advisory Body (BICCIAB) liaises with state and federal governments, industry bodies, unions, Registered Training Organisations and stakeholders to identify, promote and advocate relevant, accessible and quality training and skills recognition for industry.
