Background
BICCIAB was officially launched in November 2007. As a subcommittee of the Building Consultative Council, BICCIAB is overseen by the following representatives.
- Bill Oliver (alt Anne Duggan) – Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union (Construction Division)
- Ken Gardner (alt Alexandra Mannell) – Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia
- Brian Welch (alt Mary Gates) – Master Builders Association of Victoria
- Earl Setches (Alt Doug McClusky) – Plumbing Trade Employees Union
BICCIAB receives funding from Skills Victoria to provide advice about training needs in the building industry. As part of this role, BICCIAB represents the building industry through our network capacity and are required to:
- network with industry, training providers, community organisations and Government
- provide authoritative advice on industry training requirements including current and emerging skill development needs
- moderate and validate research activities and outputs
- promote the training system to encourage industry participation
- support National and State training policy directions, and
- contribute to the development and improvement of training products.
