Building Design moved to the Property Services Sector
The Industry Skills Council, CPSISC, have made a decision to move the development of national Building Design qualifications to the Property Services Sector. BICCIAB vehemently opposed this strategic move. Building Designers are allied to occupations such as Building Surveyors and Registered Builders, and as such development of national qualifications should remain with the building sector. However from September 2009 industry consultation in Victoria on issues associated with Building Design (including the development of qualifications) will be managed by the Business industry advisory body and the qualifications developed will be part of the Property Services sector, which includes real estate agents, pest control and security.
